Last week, fans were excited to hear the news that Priyanka Chopra (who has not starred in a Bollywood movie since Jai Gangaajal, 2016) was mostly going to reunite with Salman Khan on screen after 10 years in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat.
A source had revealed to a leading daily, “Priyanka has also worked with Ali in Gunday (2014) and shares a good rapport with him. This film will see the three of them collaborate for the first time.”
After that, more good news came when rumours went rife of a second female lead in the film with Shraddha Kapoor in the running.
However, the actor clarified that she hasn’t been approached for the movie yet. There were also speculations of Shraddha starring opposite Sidharth Malhotra in Shotgun Shaadi but she has not been approached for that either.
Shraddha stated, ” There are a couple of films that my name is being associated with when I haven’t even been approached. But the fact is that the only films I am working on are Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Stree and Saaho. My producers will announce if and when I sign another project. Till then please don’t believe any speculations.”
Well, that puts all the rumours to rest for now!
Earlier, while talking about Bharat, Ali had said, “Since the story spans over a period of 70 years, there will be many historical references. It is essentially about a man who lives through several significant moments from India’s past to present. We are currently working on the film’s pre-production and details will be announced once we are in a position to talk about them.”
Bharat is the Indian adaptation of the Korean movie, Ode to My Father and is slated for an Eid 2019 release.
